From the age of six, I started singing in the living room along to 33's of Whitney Houston, Diana Ross, Crystal Gail, and any of the Broadway musicals. I studied jazz and classical music at American River Junior College here in Sacramento California, graduating with an AA in Music in 1994. Four years later, I represented Sacramento in the California All State Honor Choir. I also sang at Warehouse Ministries for six years as worship leader and participated in many concerts and solo performances. I performed live at the Memorial Auditorium in Sacramento and in New York at Carnegie Hall. I've been a back up singer for many professional recording projects, even recorded my own music; a five track EP in 2002, titled, "Take Us Home".
I started a family in 2003, and have a wonderful son. I'm an active mother and value God, family and friends and love my animals, as they help me stay grounded. Currently I'm working on my Masters degree in psychology and just finished the "Everlasting" music project with JK Northrup and my cousin, Angela Kay Ryland.
A passion I enjoy, is to touch the souls of the people who hear me sing. I've been told I have a gift unlike most singers that can put pure emotion into every word that I sing, and somehow it makes the music come alive. I prefer a stage-like performance like Barbara Streisand's approach...a stool and a mic; or no stool and a mic, I'll just sing along with a full orchestra or a band. I love music for the soul, and if I feel it, you will feel it for sure!
